WESTERN SWING GOOD FOR TEAM - The Dakota's proved to be a good weekend for the
team. The first of three nights of racing in the dakota's, started in Watertown SD.
Alan had a good car and just missed qualifying from the heat race putting him on
the pole of the 1st "B" Main , which Alan made short order of and ran away from
the field earning him the 13th starting sport in the Feature. Alan continued slicing
his way through the field in the feature on the tight 1/4 mile bull ring ending in a 8th
place finish, the second top ten finish for one of the only "true"
rookie's on the tour.
Mandan, ND the second night of the Dakota swing proved to be a
tougher track to tame for the team, Qualifying 14th to the Feature and finishing
14th.
Jamestown, ND - The finial night was by far the best night of
the season thus far, although the result did not show... Alan drew the pole for, by
far the toughest heat of the night with Tesch, Shyrock, and Meyer joining him in heat one,
Alan pretty much had to win to qualify directly to the feature, in the nights best
race of the night young Mondus & Tesch put on a show that had the crowd on their feet
for the 10 lap race, with two led changes and a bold final pass on the top as Alan held
off and won the heat qualifying 3rd overall for the Feature.
The Feature was just as exciting for
Mondus fans as he started 5th jumped up to 3rd on the start then faded back to 8th
prior to making a mid race charge back toward the front, running a strong 4th/5th late in
the race still moving forward ended in a DNF with only five to go due to failed rear
end gears, but all in all a great showing for the night!!!!
