For Immediate Release
Alan Mondus - Lakeville MN, to join "Young Guns" at Coke-Cola Shoot-out, February 2-4th 2006. Young 17 year old Mondus will join the "Coke Cola Shoot out field along with fellow USMTS series regular Zack Vander Beek (2005 shoot out champion). Alan Mondus #55 - joined the Midwest's premier modified racing series in 2005 as a regular, and although the season did not go as hoped he gained incredible experience and knowledge sharing the track of legendary 7 time series champion Kelly Shyrock, and chasing top modified veterans of Tommy Meyer, Mark Noble, Cory Dripps, and some of the best modified drivers in the country.
Young Mondus who is finishing his senior year in High School (with Honors) hopes to capitalize on that experience he gained on the prestigious USMTS Series, and follow in the foot steps of last years champion Zack Vander Beek, another USMTS regular several years senior to Alan.
The team is excited to get it's brand new B&B Chassis "open special" to the track. The car is a new design for Paul Berger, Veteran builder of modified's. Berger states "We've been working with Alan and his Dad for the past couple of years, and this car is the result of the teams input and us building a Car designed for the USMTS rules and style of racing, we very excited about the new car and can't wait to see it hit the track"!
Alan Mondus also re-affirmed his excitement of the new car and the "Young Guns" event. Mondus stated "While I know the field will be filled with a talented group of drivers and the best equipment, it will be refreshing to compete with a field of drivers that that do not have 20 to 30+ years of modified experience and seat time, as I do regularly on the USMTS Series, boy those guys are tough...regardless of the out come."
